A tattoo artist was interviewed to share his experience and wisdom about his work. He’s a very cool dude, easy to get along with, and remarkably talented tattoo artist.

Here’s what he had to say during an interview:

Q: When did you start working as a tattoo artist?

Tattoo Artist: I started technically 16 years ago, that was in 1992. But I began tattooing professionally in 1998. Actually, I have been tattooing half of my life and I am just now realizing how astonishing is really out there. It’s amazing!

Q: Who influenced you or inspire you to become a professional tattoo artist?

Tattoo Artist: I didn’t really have any influences back then; I just kind of did what I really love to do, and as time went on I gained an appreciation from the expertise of several professional tattoo artists. Practically, far from my feeble mind can remember at one time, there are hundreds of people that have influenced me in what I do and how I do it.

Q: What inspired you to get into tattooing originally?

Tattoo Artist: Tattooing is a little long to get into really! I just kind of started by being so interested in it when I was a kid. I used to draw tattoos on my self and on clothes with markers. As I got a little older, I’ve always had a drive to draw and it bled over into actually being in the skin.

Q: You used to create comics right? Do you still create comics? Are you doing any other type of artwork besides what you are doing right now?

Tattoo Artist: I stopped creating comics. I am now into computer graphics, tooling leather and oil painting, just to name a few. I keep myself busy as much as I could.

Q: What are your opinions about how typically and widely accepted tattoos have become?

Tattoo Artist: Because I greatly enjoy doing tattoos, I really love and appreciate how popular tattoos become. The other side of it means I have to fix more tattoos because people tend not to make inquiries about their choice of artist well enough. Every bad tattoo on the street makes a lot of bad press for the business, so I try to fix them cheap even if it was done by someone else. Public awareness and information about what makes a good and safe tattoo will be a wonderful change for everyone that truly enjoys doing this for a living and are responsible enough to do it properly.

Q: Last but not the least, what are your advices to those who would like to become a professional tattoo artist like you?

Tattoo Artist: Raw talent is the first thing you need. Someone who can’t even draw or color inside lines is not a good candidate for being a tattoo artist. Sharpen your talent and develop it into skill by attending fine art classes, learning technique from books, work with fellow artist and on top of that you need to practice, practice, practice.

Q: Very well then, thanks for your time Sir!!!

One of the most important things to consider when getting your first tattoo is cleanliness and hygiene. Then you’re going to need some artwork for your choice of design, you can actually do this with the help of an expert tattoo artist. The artwork or choosing the design is very important especially when you are getting your first tattoo because the design is going to be on your skin for a very long time, and very long time actually means a lifetime. So please choose the design carefully, pick something you can live with and be proud of. Because you don’t have any idea yet how it feels like to have a tattoo inked on your body, start with small design first then build up. But if you have a very high pain tolerance, maybe you can pick a medium size with more elaborate design. Use your judgment when choosing the right tattoo design that fits your personality. Make sure that it is not only visually pleasing but choose a design that has an important meaning to you.

Another factor to consider when getting your first tattoo is the placement of the art. You have to decide the right location of your first tattoo if your job is a factor or not. The pain of course is also involved, the closer the tattoo to the bone, the higher the pain. Bring a non-squeamish friend whom you can carry on a conversation while having the tattoo being done on you to take your mind off from any pain or discomfort. A reminder for those who love sun exposure; constant sun exposure fades the colors and designs of your tattoo. Maybe you should consider simpler tattoo design to avoid regular maintenance to make it look always new.

Find an artist from a reputable tattoo shop that is willing to help a customer. One important thing when dealing with this is that while the tattoo is being drawn up on your body, the artist should stay in contact with you helping you pick the right colors and placement of the style. You may visit 5 shops before finding the right one. Know their reputations and original designs that will surely match your style.

In a recent US survey, Skateboarding is so popular and was found to be the 3rd most popular sport with teenagers next to football and basketball. A lot of people stereotyped that skateboarding will attract bad people or bad things. They are more concerned about the punk, raw, angry side of skateboarding. But the truth is that skateboarding by itself is a very good influence. It’ll keep skaters active, teaches them to set and achieve goals and challenges them.
Skaters having tattoos are form of self expression. Some might misunderstood them because of the stigma it brings but getting tattoo nowadays is a typical form of body art for skaters. It’s their way of expressing freedom and showing people how they feel while they skate.
In fact, skateboarding is only as bad of an influence as you want it to be. There are plenty of good quality people and professional skateboarders out there who would make an excellent role model whether they wear tattoos or not.
There’s Tony Hawk, a family man who donates money to charity; Rodney Mullen, a friendly guy with master’s degree; Bob Burnquist, who uses his position to help the environment; Jereme Rogers, who looks like an angry punk skater with a shaved head. His “bling” and tattoos maybe misleading, but when you take a closer look with his tattoos, they are all about his faith.
And during an interview, he keeps talking about God giving him the skill to skate so that he could tell and show the world about God’s love. He’s well known for his spirited skate style as well as his spiritual beliefs throughout the skating community.
Jereme Rogers is adored by kids around the world because he is well-mannered, well-spoken, close to God and his family. He actually maintains one of the cleanest images and a good role model in skating industry. He is a guy with tattoos but has the cleanest image.
If you’ve raised your kids well with good values, they shouldn’t drift too far from what you have taught them when they get older. If they’ve decided to have tattoos on their bodies at the right age, it doesn’t mean that they’ve become wild or fall on the wrong crowd. They have their own reason for getting tattoos and the reasons are not always bad, because having tattoo is just a form of body art and self expression. If you’re a skater reading this, just be careful with skater friends you hang with and be responsible for making your own good choices.

Nowadays, both men and women enjoy the process of applying henna as “temporary tattoo”; an alternative to permanent tattoo. So what’s the appeal? Why do many temporary tattoo enthusiasts are into henna? Because henna tattoos are painless, temporary, advanced, cool, fun, and no needles needed, you just have to paste it. What’s in this month might be out next month. With Henna Tattoo, there’s no lifetime commitment unlike permanent tattoo, the design fades within 1-4 weeks.

Henna is a natural product of a plant. Its dried leaves are ground to make the henna powder. There are no known side effects since it is a natural product, it does not pass into the dermis. The hennotannic acid, a henna dye component only stains the dead cells and the stain is pretty harmless. The henna’s dye component or the hennotannic acid naturally makes the brick, red, brown stains. To get a good henna stain on the skin usually takes many hours. 100% pure henna with the help of the heat, moisture, and time, has a reddish brown stain effect on your skin. It may be light at first then it darkens during the next 24 hours. The shade of the henna tattoo depends to the quality of the henna used, the ingredients of the paste, and the methods of applying. Sometimes the color can darken to almost black, but basically the color is brown.

The henna tattoo design should last for a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 4 weeks, depending on the texture and thickness of your skin and the location of the design. Leave the paste on up to 8 hours or more (if you can stand it) for a more desirable effect. The darker the design will be the longer the paste is on. After peeling off the paste, dip a Q-tip in a few amount of olive or avocado oil to take off the remainders of dry paste. Do not dampen or put water after the new design has been applied in the first 24 hours as the color is still in the process of darkening. Avoid putting soap or rubbing the henna tattoo design so that it will last longer on your skin.

Warning for those who want to buy black henna, because all products claiming to be “black Henna” have other ingredients called Phenylenediamine, referred to as PPD. This is a chemical dye ingredient that is often used to create a fast-taking; jet black result which is a very dangerous toxin that will cause harmful effects on your skin. It may cause a strong allergic reaction or the so called chemical burn. It is not advisable to use the said product. Stick to pure henna ingredient, it doesn’t penetrate the skin to cause problems. For safe, beautiful and better result use henna for henna tattoos.
